In EMEA they operate from offices in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, collaborating with colleagues around the world. Their offices in Berlin and Cologne are key to our European growth, and already a thriving professional business of circa 90 consultants delivering impact in the Life Sciences, and Energy sectors.

We are looking for an HR Business Partner to join their team in Berlin, supporting both our Germany and Netherlands based teams, overseeing all Human Capital for the country and partner across their international teams.

You will have frequent interaction with the international HR team and business leaders. The HR EMEA team is a true international team located across the region, in Berlin, London, Vilnius, and Utrecht and are true business partners who strive to deliver the highest quality service to our internal customers. Join them as an active team member of the EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) HR team in implementing the wider HR agenda and supported locally by an experienced HR Associates reporting to you. Key to this role is providing support to management and employees – talent acquisition, development, engagement programs, performance management, operational excellence and legal compliance to advance the company’s vision and business goals and achieve the short- and long-term human capital strategy.

You will also be the main liaison to the Works Councils in both Germany and the Netherlands and drive many of the initiatives.

What you will do

  • Business Partnering

Act as a business partner and advisor to local management and employees on all HR related matters from operational to more strategic matters.

  • HR operational excellence

Manage and coordinate the local HR administration and payroll requirements together with your HR Associate and support from our centralized HR Operations team and Payroll team. There is a big focus on automation and leveraging capabilities of Workday and other systems, set up and improve the efficiency of HR-related services and policies and analyze trends and metrics.

  • Employee engagement

  • Performance management

Support managers and employees throughout the annual performance management cycle, where we look for our people to excel and grow. Resolve employee relations issues and address grievances.

  • Talent acquisition and development

Drive and optimize the attraction, development and retention of talent in partnership with local management and our centralized Talent Acquisitions and Learning & Development team. Ensure that consistent processes, on-boarding and training programs are used across the business.

  • Collaboration with Works Council.

Cooperate with the works councils with a focus on advancing the implementation of the global and country company policies, systems and tools as harmonized as possible. Participate in the conception, negotiation, introduction, and implementation of works agreements in close collaboration with the international HR team.



What you will need

If you are enthusiastic about the job and place people first and you meet the following criteria, then we would be happy to meet you:

  • You are educated to degree level (or equivalent knowledge and experience acquired by other means, e.g. as "Personalfachkaufmann/frau") and are looking for a second or third career step in HR. You have solid HR generalist experience, with adequate business partnering experience

  • A thorough background in HR processes impacting the Employee lifecycle.

  • Ability to make genuine connections with people and partner with HR and business stakeholders internationally.

  • Solid basic knowledge of individual and collaborative labor law.

  • Strong knowledge of German labour law.

  • Demonstrated success in managing HR Programs in a matrix and global business environment.

  • Outstanding communication, coaching and influencing skills.

  • A ‘can-do’ mentality, positive minded and looking to contribute to great team atmosphere.

  • Thrives by working across the international organization, sets own agenda and has solid time management skills.

  • Strong command of German and English language.
