As a Business Development Representative specializing in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) market research, your primary responsibility is to drive the growth and expansion of market research services within the CPG industry. You will play a crucial role in identifying and securing new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and contributing to the overall success of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Market Research Expertise:

    • Develop a deep understanding of the CPG industry, including market trends, competitive landscape, and key players.
    • Stay updated on the latest market research methodologies, techniques, and tools relevant to the CPG sector.
    • Leverage your knowledge to advise clients on research strategies and provide insights that align with their business objectives.
  2. Lead Generation and Prospecting:

    • Identify and target potential CPG clients through various channels, including industry databases, online research, social media platforms, trade shows, and conferences.
    • Conduct market analysis to identify new business opportunities, emerging trends, and potential areas for expansion.
    • Utilize cold calling, email campaigns, and networking events to initiate contact and establish relationships with key decision-makers in CPG companies.
  3. Business Development:

    • Engage with prospective clients to understand their research needs, challenges, and goals.
    • Collaborate with the internal research team to develop customized proposals and solutions that address client requirements.
    • Conduct persuasive presentations and product demonstrations to showcase the value of our market research services.
    • Negotiate and finalize contracts, ensuring mutually beneficial terms and conditions for both parties.
  4. Client Relationship Management:

    • Build and maintain long-term relationships with existing clients in the CPG sector, acting as their primary point of contact.
    • Regularly communicate with clients to assess their satisfaction levels, address any concerns, and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
    • Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients throughout the research process, ensuring high-quality deliverables and timely project completion.
  5. Collaboration and Reporting:

    • Collaborate with internal teams, including research analysts, project managers, and marketing, to deliver integrated solutions and exceed client expectations.
    • Track and report on key sales metrics, such as lead generation, conversion rates, pipeline development, and revenue forecasts.
    • Provide feedback and market intelligence to the management team, helping shape the company's market research strategies and offerings.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Market Research, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in business development or sales within the market research industry, with a focus on CPG clients.
  • Excellent knowledge of the CPG industry, including consumer behavior, product trends, and market dynamics.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex research concepts and insights effectively.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to work independently and meet targets.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving abilities to identify client needs and propose tailored solutions.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, sales analytics tools, and MS Office Suite.
