They are seeking a dynamic Accounting Manager to join their finance team as a key player in overseeing the daily operations of accounting for three distinct businesses based in Germany. The role involves managing and ensuring the efficiency of accounting processes, liaising with internal and external auditors, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting head of finance with various financial tasks.

The successful candidate can be based ideally in Munich or Berlin but candidates anywhere in Germany will be considered. This position will work in a hybrid work model!
What your day will look like:
- Ensure timely closure of monthly financial records in accordance with established timelines
- Review and verify the accuracy of monthly balance sheets (BS) and income statements (IS)
- Prepare and manage the processing of Value Added Tax (VAT) returns
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors, legal and tax advisors, and tax authorities as necessary
- Prepare annual financial statements and tax declarations
- Monitor and oversee tax payments to ensure compliance
- Uphold adherence to German Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Continuously optimize and refine accounting processes for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness
About You:
- Qualified accountant with at least 3+ years post-qualification experience in Accounting and Audit
- At least a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Certification in Financial Accounting
- Experience in working with accounting software such as Datev and NetSuite
- Ability to work in an international team setting and strong communication skills
- Analytical approach to problem solving, ability to coordinate priorities and work efficiently with deadlines
- Advanced Excel skills
- A genuinely curious mindset, capable of quickly learning new systems, and the desire to grow and develop over time
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with keen attention to detail
- Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, with the capability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
- A 'roll up the sleeves' attitude towards problem-solving
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
